The challenge
HMCTS secure-building requirements combined with minimal court-sitting downtime meant all works had to be staged around court schedules. BS 5266 emergency lighting and BS 5839 fire alarm integration had to be coordinated with pre-existing systems across adjoining blocks without any gaps in life-safety coverage.
Our solution
We staged the works in three discrete weekend sequences, running temporary supplies from a secondary panel during changeover. Structured cabling was certified to TIA-568, Cat6a, with run-books handed to the HMCTS facilities team at handover. Emergency lighting was tested on commissioning and scheduled into the ongoing EICR cycle. A single NICEIC Approved Contractor sign-off covered the complete installation.
The result
Refurbishment completed on programme, no court sittings disrupted, HMCTS acceptance on first inspection. Warranted by NICEIC insurance-backed guarantee.
