Electrical Testing & EICR Across South Wales

EICR, fixed-wire, emergency-lighting and periodic inspection testing for landlords, commercial and industrial premises across South Wales — single certificates and multi-site portfolio programmes from one NICEIC Approved Contractor.

In short

FLD provides NICEIC electrical testing across South Wales — Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Pembrokeshire and the Valleys. EICRs (fixed-wire testing) from around £150 for homes and priced per distribution board for commercial sites, plus emergency-lighting testing to BS 5266 and PAT. We run both single certificates and multi-site portfolio programmes for agents, landlords and facilities managers.

Electrical testing across South Wales spans everything from a single landlord EICR in Carmarthen to a fixed-wire testing programme across an industrial portfolio on the M4 corridor. FLD is a Swansea-based NICEIC Approved Contractor with directly-employed engineers, so every certificate — wherever in South Wales — is issued under one accredited sign-off, with the same contractor available for any remedial works.

We cover the whole region from our Morfa base: Swansea and the SA postcodes, Cardiff and Newport across the CF and NP postcodes, Bridgend and the Valleys, and out to Llanelli, Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire. For multi-site landlords, letting agents and facilities managers, we run scheduled portfolio testing with consistent reporting and re-test reminders.

Testing services we provide in South Wales

EICR / fixed-wire testing

BS 7671 Electrical Installation Condition Reports for domestic, commercial and industrial premises across South Wales, with C1/C2/C3/FI coding and separately-priced remedials. Intervals: five years offices/retail, three years industrial, annually for higher-risk sites.

Landlord EICRs

Under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act and the Fitness for Human Habitation (Wales) Regulations 2022 (mandatory since 1 December 2022), every Welsh rental on an occupation contract needs a valid EICR — at least five-yearly — and the landlord must give the contract-holder a copy within 14 days of occupation and within 14 days of any re-test. Without a valid EICR the property can fail the fitness-for-human-habitation standard. We issue NICEIC certification accepted by every Welsh council and managing agent.

Emergency lighting testing

BS 5266 Part 1 monthly function and annual discharge testing for commercial, industrial and multi-occupancy premises region-wide.

Multi-site portfolio testing

Scheduled EICR, fixed-wire and emergency-lighting programmes for landlords, letting agents and facilities managers with multiple South Wales properties — consistent reporting, one point of contact, re-test reminders.
